Perfectionism & High Achievement
The exhausting pursuit of enough.
Perfectionism can look like ambition from the outside and feel like never-enough from the inside. It's the quiet second job of monitoring, editing, and rehearsing yourself, and the fear of what happens if you ever let go.
This might sound familiar
- The inner critic is loud, precise, and rarely satisfied.
- Rest feels like slacking; slacking feels like danger.
- You'd rather not try than try and fall short.
- Achievement soothes for a moment, then the bar moves.
How we work together
We gently trace where these standards came from, the relationships, roles, and messages that first made them feel necessary. Using relational, attachment-informed, and Internal Family Systems-inspired work, we get to know the protective parts underneath the striving. Slowly, a kinder inner voice can begin to speak, one that's on your side.
