Melissa Kaylee De Pace, Canadian Certified Counsellor and Certified Nutritional Practitioner

Hello, I'm Melissa.

"Healing doesn't happen through force. It happens through compassion, curiosity, and learning to trust yourself again."

My path to this work

My route to becoming a therapist was anything but linear, and that is precisely what shaped the way I work today.

I began my career in sports nutrition, which led me to study holistic nutrition and support clients through a wide range of physical health conditions, including disordered eating and complex body image struggles. From there, my work took me into medical cosmetics management and Human Resources, where I spent years coaching and supporting staff. In those spaces, I saw firsthand how deeply a person's confidence, self-worth, and internal pressure show up in how they live, work, and relate to others.

I loved every chapter of that journey, but underneath it all was a persistent pull toward something deeper. Through both professional experience and my own personal path toward healing, I came to understand a fundamental truth:

The body and the mind are never separate stories.

The struggles with self-worth, perfectionism, body image, and breaking old patterns aren't just clinical concepts to me. They are human experiences I understand deeply, both in the therapy room and through my own journey of unlearning rigid expectations and finding internal calm.

My approach: the whole person

That understanding eventually led me to complete my graduate training in therapy. Today, as a Canadian Certified Counsellor, Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and Certified Nutritional Practitioner, every piece of my background circles back to the same belief: real healing requires us to care for the whole person, not just isolated symptoms.

When it feels supportive for your goals, I gently weave these holistic insights into our therapeutic work, connecting the emotional, relational, and physical ways stress and self-criticism show up in your life.

I don't believe therapy should feel like another place where you have to perform, measure up, or follow a strict set of rules.

My hope for our work together

  • Quieting the inner critic

Moving away from harsh self-judgment and step-by-step perfectionism.

  • Rebuilding self-trust

Helping you rely on your own internal wisdom rather than external validation or control.

  • Finding relational ease

Learning how to show up authentically in your relationships without feeling like you have to shrink or prove your worth.

You don't need another system to fix you. My hope is that you leave our work together with a deeper trust in who you are, a kinder voice inside, and a space where you can finally breathe.

There is no perfect place to begin.

Change doesn't come from perfection, it comes from connection. I'll meet you where you are, with curiosity, with care, and without rush.
